Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for an Account Manager to join our growing retail sales team. Reporting to our Co-Founder, Connie Lo, we’re looking for candidates with 1+ years’ experience with a proven track record of sales growth, maintaining retailer relationships, and establishing go to market strategies. This person will own the Independent Channel.


Hours: Full-time

Start Date: July 3, 2024

Location: Toronto, ON (open to remote across North America)


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Independent Channel, which includes 250+ indie retailers (e.g. salons, spas, brick & mortar) as well as retailers like Holt Renfrew and Hudson’s Bay. This includes promotion strategy (promotions, gratis, sampling, training, displays, events, etc.), and using trade marketing spend effectively to generate the highest ROI. 
  • Weekly review of retail net shipment sales to achieve monthly and annual targets, with a goal of 25% of monthly sales coming from new business and 75% from repeat sales.
  • Manage sales on owned wholesale Shopify store and third party platforms like Faire and Bulletin. 
  • Increase in-store sales by working with Sales & Education Manager to plan events, create displays and in-store assets, and ensure the field team is working effectively with store teams (where applicable).
  • Plan promotions and work with Marketing Team to send regular campaign, promotional and educational emails to retailers.
  • Work with E-Commerce Manager to update wholesale Shopify store (new products, regular updates) and ensure best-in-class user experience.
  • Work with Operations Manager and Co-Founder on inventory forecasting, to ensure products are in stock on wholesale Shopify store and Faire.
  • Maintain best in class relationships with the retail buying teams and store teams, meeting regularly to review the business and identify opportunities. Present at market meetings twice/year to share new product development.
  • Apply for and display at trade shows to secure new retail accounts.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-5 years’ experience in a sales or account management role with a focus on managing retailer-specific sales goals.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time for retailer meetings, store visits, trade shows, etc.
  • Experience within a product based industry (beauty, food, fashion, hard goods etc) is an asset, but not required.
  • Shopify experience is an asset.
  • Track record of growing sell-through through trade marketing and promotions is an asset, but not required.


YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF YOU 

  • Are hyper organized, pay keen attention to detail, and have great time management skills.
  • Love hitting targets and are results- and KPI-driven. Have a clear understanding of retail best practices to grow sell-through.
  • Are resourceful and creative with a strong can-do attitude and ability to build programs from scratch.
  • Have the ability to analyze complex issues and develop actionable plans and recommendations. 
  • Excel at building strong relationships and possess strong story-telling and negotiation skills via all mediums (i.e. e-mail, Zoom/phone calls, and in-person meetings). 
  • Have experience working at a startup, indie brand, or lean organization, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Are a #skintellectual and geek out about the latest skincare, beauty and wellness trends.
